With the release of ANSYS Workbench 13.0 a new feature is presented: the “External Data” system which enables users to import data from external software/sources in text format into the Mechanical applications. Many multiphase flows consist of two or more immiscible phases that are separated by distinct large-scale surfaces (e.g. free-surface flows), rather than being distributed in droplets or bubbles. Using VOF modeling, a single set of momentum equations is solved together with an equation for the volume fraction.
When using the pre/post and batch solver setup compared to using full licenses, some settings has to be done within ANSYS and maybe some changes in your working methodology. These settings and changes are described in this tutorial both for ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS Mechanical APDL.
