ANSYS 12.1 Tutorial: CAD Interfaces
ANSYS 12.1 Tutorial: See this tutorial video for some tips about how you can speed up the process of updating the ANSYS model based on a CAD-model.
Introduction
You probably already know that ANSYS has native, bidirectional integration with most CAD-systems in use today, for example:
- Pro/ENGINEER
- Autodesk Inventor
- SolidWorks
- Solid Edge
- NX
- CATIA
- SpaceClaim
The geometry integration solutions allow you to use your existing, native CAD geometry directly, without translation to IGES or other intermediate geometry formats.
Using the CAD Geometry Interfaces you can:
- Drive dimension changes of the model from within ANSYS Workbench
- Give names to certain faces to make sure that loads are put in the correct place
Benefits
- Easy set up of design studies, dimension changes!
- Less errors; easier and faster to apply loads!
