ANSYS INFO DAY: Simulating Turbulent Flow

Turbulence is arguably the key element for the accuracy of computer simulation of any engineering flow. As complexity of flow physics increases, CFD must rise to meet growing demands for breadth of accurate and reliable turbulence models.

Welcome to a free Info Day on Simulating Turbulent Flow, this Info Day aims to show how CFD simulation can meet your growing demands for accurately and efficiently capturing the effects of turbulence.

Hear about the industry-tested suite of turbulence models, and how you can take advantage of that.- Get Best-Practice Guidelines on RANS turbulence models.- See how you can benefit from the recent advances made in transient turbulence models. And, hear how ANSYS is undertaking a continuous effort in model validation and collaborating with leaders in the turbulence research community.

- Take the opportunity to meet and discuss your challenges with peers, the presenters and ANSYS.Turbulence is arguably the key element for the accuracy of computer simulation of any engineering flow. As complexity of flow physics increases, CFD must rise to meet growing demands for breadth of accurate and reliable turbulence models.

This event will first address steady-state turbulence models (RANS family of models) which use state-of-the-art near wall treatment models to accurately predict phenomena like lift, drag, and surface heat transfer. In addition, you will hear how to reliably predict the onset and extent of laminar-turbulent transition even in complex applications.

Finally, turbulence models designed for challenging flows like swirling flows, flows with large separation zones, and free-shear and mixed layer flows will be discussed.Turbulence model applications, robustness, and accuracy will be shown and discussed using a number of selected benchmarks and engineering applications.
