DesignModeler is an integrated module in ANSYS Workbench and is a CAD-like modeler. In this course, we focus on the tools that are valuable for modifying 3D geometry for FE-simulation purposes, but we also cover how to create models from the beginning.
Among other functions, DesignModeler easily converts a thin solid structure (such as beams and plates) to a shell model. DesignModeler is also helpful in splitting surfaces for loads application on specific areas as well as partitioning a model for better meshing
