ANSYS CFX offers a lot of possibilities directly from the GUI. Still we do run into situations where things become very time consuming or it might not be doable directly in the GUI. For example, adding lots of monitor points can be time consuming.
Embedded Perl might be a solution to script a setup. Another example could be when a boundary condition is too complicated to be implemented using CEL, in such cases adding a user function can be the solution.
